Hey what's up horsepower nuts? I just got a good chunk of insurance money to "fix" my bike so how's this for a repair? RicksGSXR I'm sure will love this. I'm taking the 955 cc motor I have now and stroking it to 984 cc.

Wow! Now that is a lightned crankshaft. I hope your project goes faster than mine did. Rain here the last few days so only got one night in of riding. I can't wait until it is broken in. I bought an Attack Air Box of E-bay and get it Weds. Will post some pics but will not install until I get some miles racked up and go back for some more tweaking. Better check to see what your CR is going to be. Mine is not where it could be and maybe losing a few hp but I wanted to be able to run on pump gas. Anyway Good Luck!

Yikes I would love to hear that puppy rev now!! A few years back a friend of mine built a V8 for the heck of it to see how much weight he could cut away and that thing picked up revs like a 2 stroke.

Oh yeah nobody makes an aftermarket hi torque starter so this is looking pretty likely too-

Good luck with 180 and trying to make it live.

More like 140 tops

Where did I post I know anything about building Ducati engines?
My intimate knowledge comes from actually riding a few. 180 is a pipe dream unless you got money for a WSB spec motor.
Funny how on the US racing circut, broken Ducati motors were removed and shipped BACK to the factory for rebuilds.
As exotic as a Ducati is... I would NEVER own one. Too much trouble for limited returns.
Like I said...good luck trying to make it live at 180hp.

Agreed. I'd say about 150 RWHP is tops. At least for the street...which is what I'm assuming you're going for. 180RWHP is a pipe dream. At least for a privetieer. 165...I'd guess it's possible but only for the track. And get ready to do allot of maintnace on the motor. Whoever is doing the motor and spouting 180RWHP...is straight lying to you.

This is assumed you're not spending $50K on the motor. If you are, you'd propably be better off buying a ex-AMA/WSB Ducati racebike.

Not trying to flame, but just being realistic...

So how's the project going? I'm still tinkering and spending more money. Tb's and CF airbox go on this weekend. Looking for a Yosh ECU next to add some more rpms.

Sounds like she`ll be a hot motor , I used to run a 2 valve with a stroker crank making 983cc heaps of touque but nothing like the horsepower your 8 valve will produce,I am now running a 750 2 valve in that chassi so i can compete in F3 and not F1 , I may build another chassi in future to handle a 8 valve engine you can view my bike on www.rapidartf1.com , nice pic of Joey he certainly is (was)ye man

my dad is getting the 955 kit for his S4 monster "foggy", he dynoed at 109hp with some other stuff done when it was close to stock and is expecting another 30 or so with the 955 kit... does this sound realistic? can you email me the specs on your motor, he may want to do this instead of the 955 kit..... are you realistic when you say 180 hp? is that at the crank or the wheel?
