There is quite a bit of activity on the cycleforums.com website but all the TN is a group out in far east TN. It's been up and down here since we got the TN forum last year. Post up and invite some cycling friends.

I just discovered this great big roofing nail in my back tire this evening!! I guess I could always have someone video me smoking it till it pops when I go to get it changed. I just hate the fact that I have brand new tires and now one is useless....only 2000 miles or so on it! Looks like I am outta comission for a while till I scrape up the dough to replace it. Thats the breaks......

If you need to buy a tire:
A friend is reopening his motorcycle shop in Claxton. It's on Edgemoor road, between Oak Ridge and Clinton..not far from Knoxville though.
He's going to be placing his first big tire order soon. In an effort to gain customers he's offering to sell tires AT COST if you order them from him now.
The name of the place is Adrenaline Motorsports.

Thanks for the info...might look into that. Have to scrape some dough together before I do anything though.

I have been buying mine online from Chapparal Racing. I'd really like to support my local dealers but I can't justify the 60% - 100% difference in cost. Local guys can't buy enough volume to get good discounts from the distributors. My last front (BT-020) was $90 online / $160 thru my dealer. Rear was $109 online vs. $180 dealer. It may cost more to get carry -in's mounted but I have still come out way ahead.
Next...
I ride: RC51
Where: Goodlettsville
I ride with a group of about 8 to 10 close friends. Some of us have been riding together for close to twenty years. We usually pick a location to meet and go from there. Most of the time it winds up being 4 or 5 of us. Sometimes all show up for a ride. Most of us are in the fortysomething age. Old guys are faster than alot of young guys think...heh,heh,heh..we are just a bit more selective about where we have fun.
Ok, here goes:
Where: Mount Juliet
What: Aprilia Tuono / Yamaha FZ1
Who: Usually myself, every other Sunday with a group I met a few months back
