This is a verry simple way to see how fast your really going.

First, go buy a speedo from walmart or any local target place. I chose the Schwinn speedo, which works great. No need to buy the deluxe one, since you dont need the other features it has, but if you want, go for it.

Now, open it up, and set it up like it says. To get the code, follow the included directions, for a cag, the wheel code is 0898. If you have trouble getting your code, PM me and ill help you out.

Next, mount the speedo somewhere where its visable while riding, i chose the left handlebar area (since my kill switch isnt there anymore). How, run the wire to the back wheel.

Here comes the harder part, mounting the magnet. I just drilled a hole big enough to accomidate it on the rear sprocket, and used the suplied screw to hold it in place. I also used a washer just incase. Then i used glue to secure it.

Now, mount the speedo receiver part, making sure its close enough to the magnet so it can detect it on ever turn, directions say 1 mm.

Cag- 0898
X3- 1021

Your all set, heres my setup.

pic 1- shows the magnet and reveicer locations.

pic 2- Where i mounted the actual speedo

All in all, took an hour and 20 bucks.

Although some people say this speedo can only record up to 32 mph, ill let you guys know later. And make sure to keep wire away from sparkplug wire (dont like wrap it around the plug wire) or it will interfere.

Guys, that number i posted is universal, as your tire wears, the number will change. I actually got a code of 864 for the wear on my tire. So be careful.

can you please tell me what it would be for a 13" wheel size on an X3?

They come with a mount that will allow you to mount them to the handlebar. That or be creative, velcro, glue whatever.
