View Full Version : Anyone like to shoot trap or skeet

A small group of us are planning on heading to Hillsboro Trap and Skeet Club (off Glencoe Road) tonight to test our skills against those damn little clay pigeons.
So far, Z1, OMGang, BGSDKS, PDXDave (maybe), and me are heading out there. Just talked to Goofy and he's going to try and join us as well. It's $4.75 for a round of 25 clays...bring your own ammo. A couple of us have 2 or more shotguns, so if you don't have one we might be able to help you out (my 2nd's spoken for already).
We usually do two rounds, so it's $9.50 for the evening (plus ammo). Something fun to do on a Wednesday night.

I have done a lot of bird hunting, not a lot of skeet or trap shooting though but it sounds like a something to do one of these evenings. I wonder how many people would call me in to the police if they saw me on my Gixer with a gun strapped across by back

Now that's a picture I'd like to get [14]
You'll have to come join us one of these nights. I only took my dog out once last year for pheasant hunting...didn't do so well (shot at 3 and missed every damn one of 'em). I'd like to get out and do some chukar or pheasant hunting this year...just need to wait until I'm 100%.
Do you have to use a shotgun, Last time I was out, I used a 22 rifle, and did better than the woman next to me...
oh wait, that was at the carnival...
Shotgun...benelli m3...Mmmm...sawed off quad barrel...Hmmmm....
So 12gauge ok? oh rats...
"going tonight". :( Thanks for the advance notice :p

Z1 was over at my house last night and we decided to go. Sorry for the short notice [8]
We'll be heading out again either next Wednesday or the Wednesday after that. Some might even go every week.

I haven't hunted that far east, but have been over to Pendleton and Arlington. I'd like to find a farmer that's hunter friendly...but that's not easy.
I have a 2k Remmington 870 Express as well. My newest is a Baretta Whitewing O/U. Really nice gun...comes up very quick.

Nah...the moderator already contributed to this thread (of course, I don't think there's a thread he doesn't contribute to [14]).

C'mon guys, use your imagination. The way I get around the 'non-motorcycle thread' issue is like this:
When I'm not out riding my motorcycle, I feel I really messed up by not buying a O/U 20g from.....
See how easy it is? Check this out:
If you think my 'busa is cool, you should see my 1952 Winchester model 24 SS; it's in great shape.
Or maybe liv2day would say:
Not only did I wad my CBR600, but I also have trouble hitting those pesky clay pigeons[11]

Well pigeons are natorious for taking off by the roadside and implanting their bodies into are fast riding bodies. We oughta go out to practice shooting are enemies of the roads.
No I don't mean practice shooting the law enforcement, I am talking about those birds that fly up into our windscreens and such...

Ha ha ha...I wonder if Rea's dad has one...um...doh nm.
If everyone wants to go out to a rance and go hunting in the woods for a few hours on a weekend or something, let me know. My grandparents own a ranch, and I am sure there is some good hunting. I will have to check though...depends what we're hunting.
So long as it isn't cows, goats, or chickens I doubt it will be too much of an issue.

Cyd...where's the ranch located? If it's eastern Oregon...I'm definitely in. If it's in the valley, we might scare up some grouse. Does it have any water on it (possible duck hunting??).
It was a good night tonight...just OM, Z1, and me (BGS was too much of a wimp to show up [14]). OM was knocking 'em down...17 out of 25. Needless to say, Z1 and I weren't as accurate [66]

I wanna go......wait sold my shotgun last year...and I live 3 hours away. go ahead and start without me... I might not make it.[49]
Have you ever tried shooting bats at night? Much harder than skeet.

Shooting bats are easy. At that time when they are "feeding" Just throw small rocks in the air, they hone in and swoop to grab the rock, bam!! easy kill. They sore not more than 30 feet in the air.

I think Z1 might have one or two...you could always borrow one of mine (BGS doesn't seem to be able to handle it [66]).

You're a woman...you're always going to be better at "it" then we are [66] lol
You'll have to come join us one evening, Lili. For some reason, there's nothing like seeing a woman enjoy the sound of a shotgun and the explosion of a clay. It's right up there with a woman that enjoys riding a motorcycle....not quite, but close [400]

Ok, so ignoring the 'Havoc' like grammer, I'm pretty sure that I totally agree with you. I also like to hunt and screw.
Oh wait.... Lili just reminded me that I don't like to hunt

Is it just me, or wouldn't everyone else on the board turn down the offer to handle Liv's gun?

Damn...I don't even have a come back for that one. That's ok, I have a hard enough time handling my gun. Wait...that doesn't sound too good either [14] Hmmm...and the handle BGSDKS is already taken [327]
