Is it worth it too run from the cops?

Well guys decided to see how people see this, so lets find out?

I know I've had a couple run ins with the law... But I was surprised that when I saw a cop come after me, I just booked it right out of there! I didn't even think about it, I had no idea that was in me...

What about everyone else? If you had the oportunity to run would you?

I have in the past - Never again.

No, it's not worth it - To yourself, the cop, or any innocent bystanders.

The physical risk is too great - possible death; The risk to your license and criminal record is also far too great.

If ya done the crime, do the time...

But what about if hes a good distance from you and it's late at night and the streets are clear?
You know he hasn't gotten your tag, do you split?

Depends on what you consider running I guess. To me I'd like to consider that I might hide if that's possible. For example if they're far enough back and I'm on the interstate and can make a quick/cautious exit. Once off the exit I'd hope to cautiously pull in somewhere and stop and hope that they pass me. I'd never run from a LEO in the streets or through intersections. I'd pretty much just pull over and hope for my best interests.

For the most part though...no....it's too risky to my health and reputation among friends in my opinion.

But I don't speed so I don't have anything to worry about...:wink2

Lets see.... $70-300 fine, and possible points vs. a 1st degree felony record, probably on multiple counts, as well as losing:

A) My right to vote.
B) My right to own Multiple Weapons.
C) My right to work in most professions, including a job that holds a security clearance...

So, my vote defiantely, NO. HELL NO.

I've only run twice (once from my dad doesn't count!) Looking back I probably wouldn't do it again.

This is still not a good point. How many people say "hey I will just Drink and Drive after 3am. Nobody should be on the streets then, and look how many people are killed in the wee hours of the morning from the drunk drivers!!!

I say no way about running, unless if it is they way Athemon mentioned where I don't have to have a huge rapid of speed and very quick nervous decisions!!!!

OK I votede sometimes because just like they said, if you can make the decision with a clear head and you don't have to push any sort of limits, including endangering your self or others, yeah I would do it, have done it. Very seldomly can you do that though so for the most part yes it is a bad idea. I was with a buddy once(who is a cop) and we had another cop turn around on us, we pulled off on the next gravel road and then on another that was parralel to the one we were on and watched and listened while she chased the air down the highway and told the dispatcher the wrong kind of vehicle. We had a scanner in the truck and it was extremely comical. That was the night before I came in the navy.
