...How i DIDNT get past dad

so i start talken to my dad and i go so if i sell my wheeler wheres that money goin towars he sais well you will be getting about $600 and i go so i say we put half in the bank and i put the other half towards what i want...right off he knows im thinken about a pocket bike so he sais well ur def not getting a lil pocket bike and i go why he goes cuz i said and i go well i respect your decision and opinion but can we atleast talk all the way through so u can hear my opinion so he chuckles and goes id love to hear it...so we get talkin im like dad i know these things are dangerouse thats why i have that helmet over there now would u rather have me on a jet ski out on that river cuz i sure know that river is alot more dangerouse then on a pocket bike so hes still silent im like anyways i could use this thing for all kinds of stuff i could go over town...then he sais you will get arrested so im like well ill have my liscense soon and anyways i can ride side saddle and hit the kill switch when needed..so hes like yeah right...so i continue im like u wont have to give me rides anymore and i could have alot to do when im bored and i could also use it for when im in the pits with corey (my cousine who races) so im like what if he blows a tire and we need to change it real quick and we arent right there... i could hop on that and do it for him...so he still says "i dont care im not putting one red cent towards one of those pocket bikes" so im really pissed at this point im all out of ideas...so im just like w/e and i brush it off cuz i know as soon as i have 300 bucks im ordering and if he doesnt like that then he can payi for shipping to have it sent back and i dont care cuz im gettin a pocket bike wether i have it for 10 minutes or 10 seconds and he takes it...I Am Getting A Pocket Bike...

well sorry to hear about the responce from your dad. But at least you talked about it more and he has a better understanding of where you are in the idea of having one. Just be patient he will come around, plus if you earn your own money and get one then that will show him that you have gained responsibility and then you earn more money to keep it up and running in good condition. These bikes have numerous problems as you can see from reading all these post. If you take care of it too then it will be a good experience for both you and your dad. Good Luck

You'll just order it anyway? Have you thought about his response? Maybe a total lack of trust and belief for anything you say ever again? When you need money that he might not trust you enough for nuthing?

Maybe you should just wait and drop it for a little while to him. Let both sides calm down & cool off.

this is a give and take, you gotta give him something if you wanna make it work, it is called comprimise, my son can't ride his if his grades are down, thats why he is always A/B honor roll.....gotta do it :dunce

im having trouble now getting my mom to let me get one. my dad has no problem with it but he lives elsewhere so its up to mom. i might end up having to get one of my friends with a credit card to order it for me

Y'all with all this friend & credit card sneaky stuff need to think about the long term effects of something like this. The lack of trust your parents will have in you afterwards & things like that. Not to mention the fact your liable to get your friends in trouble with thier parents for doing it. Plus if your parents are mad enough that they sell it or give it away or something after that then you out money, a pb & everything.

I know its just my .02 but stuff like that is a bad idea.
