It would be a great chance to meet people we only know from the boards...and then ride our asses off!

PSI founding member Dies at Hagg

OK My friends, I really hate posting this.

My Friend KJ died Sunday at Hagg lake, he was married and had a 10 year old son. I only rode with KJ a couple times, he was a skilled rider although he had only been at it a year. I wasnt on the ride when he died but after talking to my closest riding partner, best friend and vice president of PSI, Saxon, I have the details of what was witnessed and I am posting here and now as a warning to all my family that ride. First I want to say that KJ was a beautiful human being, a kind loyal friend, and someone that would accept you with open arms and would take you as a friend and make you feel accepted quickly.

This is what I pieced together

Going on the route counter clockwise (dam first) heading to campsite C the group stopped for a bite to eat, continuing on the journey, as everyone knows, the roads at Hagg are mainly long sweepers, and they can be rode fairly hard for the more experienced riders. Saxon was leading and KJ got really close to his tail, Saxon waved him on and KJ blasted past him, on the next curve Saxon says he say the bike spin in the air and land in a tree, KJ 15 feet from the guard rail, laying on the ground, rushing to his side Saxon attempted to revive him, yelling at him to give any sign of life, the other riders came up and came over to help out, Austin from Pureriderz from what i understand was holding KJ's head in his hands, blood came out of his mouth, and other than some nervous system twitching there was no sign of life, and my friend KJ, Husband, Father, Friend is gone, died in Saxon, and Austins arms, he had sustained a broken neck.

What we do is ****ING dangerous guys, too many riders have died this year, 3 weeks ago in one weekend 5 people died, almost everyone I have met this year know someone that died, NOT went down and is ok, DIED.

Be ****ing careful out there guys, a windy road doesn't mean its engineered to drag a leg on, if you NEED to get your feed for speed and drag knees, know the ****ing road first. Im tired of writing these threads man. Too many people have gone down.

Incidentally on the same corner another guy did almost the same thing, but he low sided, yea he didnt die, he gotta broken collar bone instead.

Rubber Side down boys, and ride safe

Im going to ride out to the crash site today and try to make some kind of sence of what happened, really guys we lost a good one on 8-17-09
