RE: So, who is still around?
@Jet said in So, who is still around?:
@Spyral it’s been a long long time. I miss those days myself. Good to see some names I recognize.
Me, I’ve been on a hell of a ride, I live in Colombia now where I’m building a resort, I’m partially paralyzed but not from riding, I’m actually looking to get back on after 3yrs of being off 2 wheels.
@Rob still got that Avatar I made you in the SBN days?
Hope to catch up with you guys in person some day.Damn Jet, long time no hear. Hows things going? No idea on that avatar, the pc I used back then took a big dump. CF has a FB group for the CF OG’s called CF OGs. About 130 of us there.

RE: So, who is still around?
FB wont last forever. Remember they said MySpace will last forever and where is it now? Forums do have their advantages over sites like FB. Easier to search for posts, you can read at your leisure, far easier to post photos and what not.

RE: Real names vs pseudonyms
Our local newspaper implemented a new policy for using real names in the comment sections (along with having to pay to comment). Didn’t stop the nasty comments. Same with the local TV station websites. They started requiring facebook logins for the comments. Didn’t change a thing. Some people really just don’t care if you know who they are.
A different approach to moderation I don’t think would had mattered. Facebook did sign the “death warrant” on a bunch of forums, although Verticalscope did flatline a bunch after they bought them. Will forums come back? Possibly, but it would need facebook to go the way of myspace. And with the number of people I know deactivating their facebook accounts and how much facebook is ticking people off, I wouldn’t be surprised if facebook disappears in 5 yrs. Even then it doesn’t mean the resurrection of forums.

RE: Welcome to 2017
Hello.
Wow, site requires at least 8 letters for a reply. LOL

RE: Custom Gauge Faces
Theres a legit reason to open it up. Thought you were just gonna open a perfectly good one.
Had to help someone fix their car’s gauge cluster after the “expert” he sent it to effed it up. Bent some of the shafts on the stepper motors trying to pry off the needles the wrong way. One reason I don’t recommend doing that just for the sake of change.

RE: Custom Gauge Faces
Honestly, I don’t think its worth it. Too many things could go wrong with how delicate some guage setups are.

RE: New Feature Requests - Suggest Yours Here!
Software itself works fine here, just site is pretty quiet. FOrums may make a comeback. I know a lot of people who are getting sick of FB.

RE: New Feature Requests - Suggest Yours Here!
Thanks. A photography board I’m on recently changed forum software (to one designed and coded by the owner himself) and put a 30 day log in time max for “security”. Sadly the forum software he wrote is not real user friendly. Site went from being real active to pretty dead right afterwards.

RE: The Complain About Your Job Thread
Tired of the same asskissers getting away with what ever they want.

RE: New Feature Requests - Suggest Yours Here!
How about making it keep you logged in until you want to log out? Kinda silly to have to log in on a regular basis. Even when “Remember Me” is checked, it still logs me out in about 2 weeks.

RE: Oregon Left Lane Hogs
IL has it on the interstates. No one obeys it, not even state cops.

RE: I guess I will be the one to say it
